Please note that Q1, Q2, Q3, and Q4 refer to the first, second, third, and fourth quarters of the Fiscal Year. The City’s Fiscal Year runs from October 1st – September 30th and is denoted by FY. CY denotes Calendar Year.
In the 1st quarter of FY22, there were a total of 297 residential (addition/alteration) permits issued.
The annual target for this measure is greater than or equal to 559 residential permits issued. At the end of Q1 the City has already reached over 50% of its goal for the Fiscal Year. Since the measure is on track to hit this annual goal this measure is evaluated as on target.
The Building Safety Department no longer tracks residential reinvestment due to recent changes in state law, specifically H.B. 852. The Residential Reinvestment measure has been updated with the residential permits measure.
This measure tracks the amount of permits issued by the Department of Building Safety for the addition/alteration of residential properties within the city limits of Sugar Land. Residential addition/alteration permits do not include new home construction.
Performance better than or equal to the three year trailing average.
The number of permits for additions/alterations are representative of the activity level of real property investments going into the redevelopment of residential real estate within the city limits of Sugar Land. The measure denotes value being reinvested into the community to maintain or improve residential properties.
